Volunteer Opportunities
Sycamore Ridge PTA is responsible for many programs that enrich the educational experience for each and every child at the school. These programs are not possible without the wonderful volunteers that donate their time, energy and talents. There are volunteer opportunities to fit into any busy schedule. The following programs are in need of volunteers.

Stallion Sprinters: This lunch club is a wonderful way for the kids to stay active. Students run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch recess and earn coveted "toe tokens" for every 25 laps they run, and is particularly popular with the Kindergarten and First Grade students. This is a great opportunity to be involved at school and requires just 45 minutes once or twice a week. For more information, contact Chair Marie LeRose at marielerose@gmail.com.
Everyone a Reader: WHAT EXACTLY IS IT? Everyone A Reader is a volunteer tutor program that trains tutors to work with students who could benefit from additional literacy support. These volunteers work one-on-one with first and second grade students using research-informed instructional methods to help the children reach their grade-level in reading.

THE COMMITMENT: Volunteers are requested to work for one hour a week with the same four students (sessions are 15 min. each) once a week October through May.

STILL INTERESTED? If you’re passionate about reading and would like to be part of a dedicated team helping to make a difference in the lives of children, please consider joining the Sycamore Ridge EAR team.
